Frequently asked questions.

What is breathwork?

Breathwork is a powerful active meditation that uses conscious, connected breathing (usually no pauses between inhale and exhale) to shift your physiology, release stored emotions, reduce stress, and access expanded states of consciousness. Different techniques exist (e.g., Conscious Connected Breathing, Transformational Breath®, Wim Hof-inspired, Holotropic-style); I clearly state which one I use for each offering.

Is breathwork safe?

For most healthy adults, yes when done with proper guidance and screening. However, it is a strong practice that temporarily changes blood chemistry (lowers CO₂, increases oxygen and pH). This is why certain medical and psychological conditions are contraindicated (see full list in the Terms & Conditions). When in doubt, get clearance from your doctor.

Will I have an emotional release or cry?

It’s very common. Many people laugh, cry, feel anger, or experience deep peace. Whatever arises is welcome and will be held in a safe, non-judgmental space.

Do I need any experience or fitness level?

No. Everyone breathes! You’ll be guided step-by-step. You simply lie down (or sit) and breathe.

Can I eat before a session?

Best to eat lightly 2–3 hours before. Avoid heavy meals, caffeine, or alcohol on the day of the session.

What happens after the breathwork?

You’ll have integration time with music, sharing (optional), journaling, or gentle movement. Many people feel deeply relaxed, energized, clear, or emotional. Drink plenty of water and take it easy for the rest of the day.

Are online breathwork sessions effective?

Absolutely. Thousands of people have profound experiences from home via Zoom. You just need a quiet space, good internet, headphones, and a yoga mat/blanket setup.

How long does a typical session last?

  • Private 1:1 sessions: 75–120 minutes

  • Group sessions/workshops: 2–3.5 hours (including introduction, breathing, integration)

  • Retreats & trainings: multi-day (see specific event)
